| This is actually more noise pollution. We don't need "conspiracy theory". We just need to quote from the works of power elites. | |

| I think that the comic strip in question is a decent satirical, post modern commentary on conspiracy culture. Well made, in terms of illustration, structure and writing too. It perhaps shouldn't be taken too seriously and it seems from the author's posts he fully aware of the absurd in conspiracy theory/culture that so often is ignored by those within that particular hermetically sealed bubble.

I take it seriously because it is a slap in the face to those of us who are smart enough to make causal connections, and aren't sheeple. This is not something that should be made fun of, but respected. In point of fact, I know very few conspiracy theorists who wear tin foil hats or who believe aliens are ready to swoop down upon them. So these exaggerations are painfully dishonest and serve only to smear a group of people by putting them in a false light of foolishness -- foolish at best, that is: but more often as total "whack jobs". Not a good way to encourage one to use one';s mind and judge for oneself, is it. Which is exactly its intended purpose: to penalize and intimidate, so that people are AFRAID to think. That's why I didn't like seeing that comic strip at RPF's.

| I'm a tinfoil hat wearing whack job's tinfoil hat wearing whack job. You should see the reactions I get when I tell people that we live in a manufactured reality. The Project Camelot folk think I'M the nutter. LOL | |

I don't see it as a slap in the face I'm afraid. To me it's merely an acknowledgement of certain ridiculous elements in conspiracy culture, not its entirety. And it also acknowledges certain hard truths of genuine research into hidden agendas and TPTB. It's a satire, I don't think it should be overthought as an evil machination of some kind. I think it marvelous that in a series of panels he highlights the error of the conspiracy gurus that lead so many nowhere. I propose that we agree to differ on this point.
