So, to setup this thread, we'll need to start with Godel, for he is the one that created, or identified the problem that computers attempt to overcome.
Gödel's second theorem says, roughly, that no system of a certain strength can prove its own consistency unless it is inconsistent.
Computers, or more specifically, computer networks, attempt to make inconsistent systems consistent, and therefore complete. This is why, as our society "progresses", more and more of our social systems are migrating to computer networks.
