Recently watched this 2nd installment to the 2001 A Space Odessey movie and saw an entirely different movie. In short, here are my observations:
- Thousands of stars, 1,305,000 of them, is what they say in the movie, wow, that's a lot of cointel operatives (funny how the "Monolith" was made up of all these "stars").
- The dialectical ruling over the world (2 "suns")... the democracy that we see on the surface and the controllers behind it. (The Monolith actually eats a planet and creates this "2nd Star/Sun")
- carbon versus silicon (computer versus man dialectic that was to come)
- Time magazine cover showing war between muslims and the west.
