Beyond the crisis, mindboggling science and the arrival of Homo evolutis
At Ted Talks in 2009, Juan Enriquez predicts the Homo Evolutis to come next. He says that even as mega-banks topple, the big reboot is yet to come. But don’t look for it on your ballot – or in the stock exchange. It’ll come from science labs, and it promises keener bodies and minds. Our kids are going to be, let’s say – different. Talking first about our current financial crisis he then continues to talk about what will come after the crisis, mainly from a scientific point of view, but with very nice jokes and funny images in between.

Highly disturbing, They Live.
As long as we the victims remain gagged (by lack of the ability to communicate), how can we ever do anything to resist these utter lunatics? It was wise indeed of the power-lusters to take control of all communication avenues, i.e. "Total Information Dominance" - one can not fight a battle in individual, isolated units.
I believe, still, that hope may lie in remaining faithful to our beliefs as to what is really the good, and never surrendering that.

How does one argue for a new system requiring a scientifically designed super-species as a response to the "crisis in capitalism"? I'm trying to see how that leap makes any sense at all.

The utter contempt for his audience which lies just below the surface, makes 'logic' an unnecessary tool for this megalomaniac. What does he need logic for when the 'sheeple' are so willing to be shorn -- with verbal bread and circuses, and what-all.

Does that video include a laugh track? I was left wondering if the audience really took the presentation as well as the video appears to show.

That was a good talk.

I don't think the "new system" is related to the financial crisis, I don't think it's any kind of necessary consequence. The crisis may be used to create regulation beneficial to those steering policy, but the technological wave was coming regardless of the financial situation. As far as "requiring scientifically designed super-species", some individuals don't want their children to suffer from the same diseases and disorders as they have, so they'll cut them out, genetically. While in there, might as well add a few enhancements, right?
