Minute 16 he says....
"the common cultural belief is that we need a narrative, a diachronic view in our life to establish our values, but with our current empathic understanding of our social nature we now know that a purely scientific view with no attachments to identity or story yields a far more accurate ethical paradigm than our anecdotal values."
That's just a long winded rationalisation for doing a bad things he wants to do anyway.
