Systems Thinking, A Change in Thinking
- systems are defined by their interaction, not their parts.
- the defining characteristic of a system emerges from the interaction of the parts
@40s: if you understand everything about a part, except the system it is part of, you actually know very little. (see reductionist thinking)
- What is "wrong" is thinking that Reductionist Thinking is synonymous with thinking, rather than a subset of thinking.
- gaining an awareness of how we think is the first step in creating intellectual capital.
- as we learn more about the interactions of systems, we are better able to predict and influence systems behavior. the same is not true if we focus on learning about the elements. (so, this shows that spying on individuals is of little to no value... hence, it is another form of propaganda)
- the brain is a lesson in interactions, learning is literally the result of growing interdependencies. .... The connections between the brain cells grow. As you learn more, these connections, called dendrites, lengthen to connect a greater number of brain cells. One learns by increasing the interaction of brain cells, not by changing the brain cells themselves. Similarly, organizations learn by improving the interaction of their elements, not by improving the elements in isolation [I find it hard to believe this].
- The most critical interaction of any system is its interaction with its environment. It is upon the environment that any system, natural or social, depends for its survival.
- the ecological model requires understanding the "animal" within its environment. this leads to a much richer understanding requiring that we learn about the ecosystem of which the animal is part [well, what happens when that ecosystem (simulacrum) is manufactured and controlled]
- we will never correct the fragmentation in our society until we correct the "fragmentation" in our thinking. (ie. implement complex adaptive system thinking)
- We must learn about the ecosystem of which the animal is part

Guess why they built the Internet folks?
And guess why Google, Facebook and Twitter are COINTEL cardboard cutout companies?
They need to understand the interactions between us, and these companies, along with the Internet help achieve these goals.

I this is mostly right, but not always. It's true for the common person, but the system doesn't want certain ideas to spread. There are some individuals who are affected by the spying; they are those who have the potential to gain a mass following.
Most people aren't disturbed by spying or they pretend it doesn't exist, otherwise people wouldn't be signing up to social networking sites.
