PostSubject: Utilitarianism   Sat 20 Feb 2010, 4:31 pm

Utilitarianism is the idea that the moral worth of an action is determined solely by its utility in providing happiness or pleasure as summed among all sentient beings.

This is what the Ponerized use to rationalize their actions.

"For every thousand hacking at the leaves of evil, there is one striking at the root."
David Thoreau (1817-1862)

Reminds me of pragmatism -aka John Dewey. Molded to the sway of the state. I think pragmatism and utilitarianism are basically the same just different words to describe the same thing.
