This is really great that you guys took the time and effort to get this board started. After getting getting recently banned from you-know-where (due to a PM conversation), I was about ready to hang-up my forum posting days. It's just of so little value when everything interesting either gets attacked or moved somewhere that no one can view it. I sincerely hope that this place can retain a level of serious and high level discussion, because I think there are a lot of people searching for just this.

The idea of this forum is what got me to start posting again. It's been almost a year! Thanks.

I was wondering when RPF would start banning out in broad daylight like we've seen lately. Some other forums (theobamaforum for example) ban about half of their registered users. It's all about trying to create a group identity that is guarded zealously by its followers, with a disregard for introspection or rationality. Then such a group could be effortlessly sent into any direction by its thought leaders (or, disinfo vectors, if you like).

I posted seldomly as 'NoMoreFed' on RPF -- but soon realized that deep critical discussion was not looked upon kindly (see 'Controlled Opposition' thread).

Glad to be here now.

Forums are no different than the USnow compartmentalized society concept, or most are. I am confident that through this forum we all can help each other to point out different avenues of control that TPTB use or plan to use. I still visit RPFs to catch up on the latest fear headlines in the simulacrum but it is of my opinion that RPF is exactly trying to get one frame of mind in their only and keep it at that, just another simulacrum where the majority try to shape the opinion of the minority resulting in groupthink and control.

Agreed.

I too, still drop by RPFs for the same reason. I also enjoy reading certain individual's posts. The mod team has been shaping the opinion of members through their comments and actions. There are those too that are in on that forum's endgame.

I think that their endgame may be to get people so endlessly wrapped up in this or that 'liberty' candidate for this or that reason, they forget that meaningful change begins with themselves. Just my opinion, but I don't see any hope in activism or the political process as it stands currently.

Hi folks Smile Thanks for the invite.

I have a feeling I'll be lurking more than posting. I'm not as far along at understanding all of this as you are, but my mind is open. So be patient with me please Smile

Also, I think you guys have a much more sophisticated view of rpf than reality actually dictates. I'm sure there are users there who want to steer it but I think it's more of a personal/pride/power thing than a coordinated effort on the part of the admins/mods.

I think this is a really good point. In my experience, online forums almost always degenerate into a kind of herd mentality. Once a critical mass of sufficiently like-minded people are participating, the usual practice is to gather together into some kind of cyber lynch mob and start "hanging" any dissenters. Some forums are better than others, but most degenerate into groupthink pretty quickly.

I've been at this for quite some time, and I can't recall a single instance wherein this kind of thing wasn't evident to some degree.

I kind of agree, it is difficult to describe but I think it can reach the point where the group becomes a monster in itself. It may have not been planned from the top down to happen, but just due to incentives combined with what individuals value. Political correctness and the desire to be popular are the best examples I can think of. I think there are people in our society, or perhaps above our society, who do actively attempt to lead the herd in one direction or another using things like political correctness or by setting the standards of what qualities you have to have to become popular (this wouldn't be difficult if you ran a major MSM outlet). Even if the elites do not have direct authority over the group, because the group is submitting to their standard of popularity, they are to some extent submitting to their authority.
