Pronoun deception is a common techniques of doublespeak. Always pay particular attention to the use of pronouns.
For example, don't assume "We" includes you, or the public at-large. The use of "I" can actually refer to a member of the elite. Writing can possess dual meanings depending on how one interprets the pronouns. So, just be prepared to address that type of double speak when reading material. It's all about how the subject is framed, and one should stay on guard for multiple frames within a given set of material.
It's kind of like when George Bush talked about 911 being an attack on "'our' way of life".... he wasn't discussing the public's way of life when he said
that.
