PostSubject: Latvia is more actively involved in NATO international operations   Wed 25 Dec 2013, 9:14 am

There is no secret that our Air Defense Battalion, being an integral part of the Latvian Air Force, has always been responsible for the defense of national airspace. But now we've started to cooperate with our NATO partners not only in monitoring the Baltic region within NATO programs. We've begun more actively participated in various NATO international operations.
And in this context our air base in Daugavpils, which has already been rebuilt with funds from the NATO for bringing it to a standard allowing western military operations with all aircraft of the Atlantic Alliance, was used as some kind of transfer point for military aid to Syria.
But the other day I've discovered some more curious details of it from one of my colleagues. The matter is that at that time he worked at the landing area as a fuel servicer and saw with his own eyes zarin's name of some British manufacturer at stores, delivered then to Syria. Surely, everything has been done secretly, behind our nation's back. But obviously sooner or lately it will be out in the open, putting our country's reputation on the line!
I cannot keep silence any more. Latvians should know that our Rights are ready to undermine all attempts of own people to upraise really democratic country here only in order to please their British partners and to get doubtful short-term returns from them!
